How to Find the Best PC For You

What Does It Mean If a System is ‘Built to Order’, ‘In Stock’ or ‘Pre-Order’?

When you are browsing our selection of gaming PCs, you will see one of these stock status messages on the purchase button.

  • ‘Built to Order’ means that each system is assembled and tested from scratch upon confirmation of order.
  • ‘In Stock’ is for pre-built systems with set hardware specifications that can usually be dispatched upon ordering.
  • If you purchase a system on ‘Pre-Order’, your order will be dispatched using your selected delivery method once stock becomes available.

What Should I Look for When Browsing Your PCs?

When browsing PCs, be sure to check what hardware is included. This includes the CPU, graphics card, RAM, and storage. These components will determine your PC’s performance and things such as what games it can run. If you have a specific title or task in mind for your system, look for a PC with hardware similar to what that software recommends.

How Do I Order a PC?

You can order from the PC System category on the Overclockers UK website. Simply find the available model you wish to purchase in our, click “Add to Basket” and proceed through the checkout to complete your order. We can also offer advice and recommendations as well as give custom quotes if you contact us over the phone.

How Can I Pay for a PC?

There are several ways you can pay for a PC at Overclockers UK. PCs can be paid for in full using your credit or debit card. You can pay via PayPal as well. Pay in 3 options are also offered by Klarna. You can also use flexible finance options to pay in manageable installments. More information can be found on our finance page.

What Other PC Essentials Are Recommended?

When buying a gaming PC, there are several peripherals that it is recommended you buy alongside your system. First, be sure to have a gaming monitor that can make the most of your system’s graphics performance. You will also need a gaming mouse and keyboard to use the PC. A mouse mat or gaming surface for your desk is also recommended.

PC Testing and Quality Assurance

Who Builds Your PCs?

All systems sold at Overclockers UK are built by our in-house team of PC building experts. All parts are taken from our warehouse inventory and assembled at each builder’s dedicated build bench before going through testing and quality assurance, then being shipped out via our warehouse. The entire process takes place on-site, as seen on our behind the scenes page.

How Are Systems Tested?

All of our PC systems get tested multiple times throughout the build process. Once the building is complete, the builder will first ensure the systems boots correctly. Afterwards, the PC is moved to our testing racks, where a server will check each part and flag any that need replacing due to an unforeseen fault. Once that has cleared, we perform a minimum of 8 hours of stress testing and benchmarking. Finally, quality control checks then take place in BIOS, Windows is verified, and all previous tests are double-checked and verified before shipping.


PC Delivery & Tracking

When Will My PC Arrive?

When your PC arrives depends on the nature of the system you chose, where you are located, when you order, what delivery method you chose, and the number of orders we are processing. Pre-Built PCs can arrive as early as the next day, but the delivery countdown on each system’s product page will give a clear indication of this. Similarly, Built-to-Order systems have an ETA on their product page to indicate current lead times. For more information, please see our delivery page.

How Long Do PCs Take to Build?

PC building time can vary depending on demand, availability, and builder scheduling. For an idea of how long a specific system will take to build and ship, please refer to the ETA on its product page.

Can PCs be Delivered Next Day?

Certain PC systems can be delivered the next day. We have a range of pre-built PC systems that can be shipped immediately to the UK Mainland. All qualifying systems will have a message on their page indicating when you must order by and with which service to receive it the next day.

How Are PCs Shipped?

All of our PCs are packaged to ensure no damage can occur during transit and all components remain secure. We use special packaging on the interior of the PC to protect internal components and ensure they do not become loose. The delivery service used will offer tracking and updates from the courier via email and SMS.

How Do I Track My PC’s Delivery?

All of our gaming PCs are delivered via DPD. Once DPD has your parcel, they will email you with tracking information you can use to follow your PC’s delivery and update your preferences to help it reach you. You can also track the delivery here.


Support and Aftercare

What Warranty Does My System Come With?

All of our systems come with our standard warranty. This is a full three-year parts and labour warranty. Be sure to keep the box your PC comes with in the event of a fault. We will arrange collection and return at no cost to you. We aim to have your system repaired, tested, and returned in 5-7 working days upon receipt. This can take longer during busy periods. Should a faulty part no longer be in stock or available, we will contact you. Please note, this warranty is not available outside of the UK. If you wish to send your system in for repair and live outside the UK Mainland, you will be responsible for returning it to Overclockers UK.

Does My System Come with a Setup Guide?

Yes, all of our systems are shipped with one of our Welcome Packs which include our setup guides. This will contain visual instructions to help you get your PC out of its packaging and booted up.

How Does the Upgrade Service Work?

We offer our upgrade service as part of our standard warranty, and the labour is free if used during that period. The service will be available after the first 30 days following system delivery. If used in this time we will arrange collection and return at no cost to you provided you live on the UK Mainland. This is not available for Custom Spec, Infin8, and 8Pack systems. Labour charges will apply due to their complex nature.
Customers will be responsible for covering the cost of shipping and returning the systems, as well as for upgrade components. Refunds for old components are not provided. You can contact us to discuss your requirements and receive guidance in returning your system.

Can I Contact Customer Service for Further Support?

Yes, our customer service team and support channels are here for you. They are manned by our own technicians who are responsible for building our systems. If you are contacting in the unlikely event of a fault, they will guide you through basic fault finding if needed. Be sure to have your order number ready when you contact support.
