Types of Gaming Mice
There are many gaming mice on the market. Luckily, these generally fall into one of three categories: palm grip, claw grip, and tip grip. Claw Grip
The claw grip gaming mouse gets its name from the pronounced arch shape of the mouse. This positions the fingers in a claw-like shape and places the tips of the fingers immediately on the buttons. The most obvious advantage of the claw grip gaming mouse is that it provides increased stability and accuracy. This is ideal for games which require long, exaggerated mouse movements and fast gliding back and forth across the screen, such as for RTS and Action-RTS games.
Tip Grip
Also known as the fingertip grip, this refers to a mouse where only the fingers are used to hold the mouse. It’s more compact, and since there is minimal contact between the hand and the mouse it reduces the strain on the hand and wrist.
The advantage of using this type of gaming mouse is that it permits rapid movement. The tip grip is arguably the swiftest style, making it ideal for fast-paced games that also demand accuracy. Although it requires three fingers to control it, the tip grip gaming mouse does require slightly more interaction from the user; fingers can be used for short distance, wrists for medium distances, and the arm for longer distances.
