Logitech Headsets Explained

There are several keywords and phrases it can be helpful to understand when buying a new pair of gaming headphones.

Frequency Response: This refers to the range of audio frequencies that a device, such as a gaming headset, can reproduce. It is usually measured in Hertz (Hz) and is often represented as a range, such as 20Hz-20kHz. A wider range of frequencies means that the headset can produce a wider range of sounds, including lower bass tones and higher treble tones. In general, a headset with a wider frequency response will provide a more immersive and accurate audio experience.

Impedance: This is simply the resistance of the Logitech headset to the audio signal coming from the device it's connected to. A low-impedance headset (typically around 32 ohms) will have less resistance and will be easier for devices to drive, meaning that the audio will be louder and clearer. A high-impedance headset (typically around 300 ohms) will have more resistance, requiring more power to drive and often requiring an external amp or sound card.

Driver Size: This is the physical diameter of the speaker unit inside a pair of headphones. Larger drivers can typically produce louder and deeper bass sounds, while smaller drivers may be less powerful but can be more efficient and lightweight. However, larger drivers also typically require more power to operate and may be less efficient than smaller drivers.
