G Sync Monitors
Get game ready with NVIDIA G-Sync. This display technology has been expertly designed to deliver a smooth, ultra-fast gaming experience. G-Sync notably reduces input lag, screen tearing, and display stutter by syncing your GPU and gaming monitor's refresh rate. This provides you with not just a great gaming experience with reduced motion blur but more accurate, up-to-date information on where enemies are on screen. This helps to provide a competitive edge in-game.
Refresh Rates, Tearing and Input Lag
The majority of monitors use a fixed refresh rate such as 120Hz, 144Hz, 240Hz, or 360Hz. Depending on the specification of your PC and the game you’re playing, your Frames Per Second (FPS) will vary. NVIDIA G-Sync links your monitor's refresh rate to your GPUs FPS, reducing screen tearing and motion blur. Screen tearing is caused by your GPU sending a rendered frame to your monitor before it has finished refreshing, causing the image to be split. Before NVIDIA G-Sync, gamers could use VSync in games to help reduce screen tearing. When enabled VSync limits FPS to a monitor's refresh rate. However, this process can create input lag. This is when the GPU holds the image until the monitor is ready to display it, creating lag.
NVIDIA G-Sync Monitors
NVIDIA G-Sync works by synchronising the display refresh rate with the graphics card's frame per second output rate. Most monitors have a fixed refresh rate, normally 60Hz, 120Hz, or 140Hz. However, the render rate of most graphics cards fluctuates during use and isn't always the same as the monitor's refresh rate, which is what results in tearing. NVIDIA G-Sync connects the graphics card to the monitor, allowing it to adjust automatically. The result is smoother, more fluid images, without any lag—giving you a great gaming experience every time.
