Corsair has harnessed Quantum Dot (QD) technology in a number of their displays. Quantum Dots are nanoparticles with semiconductor properties that react to a light source to produce a specified bandwidth of light. This technology enables monitors to display a wider range of colours, without over-saturating brightness. With this lower brightness requirement and a wide colour gamut, the blacks will be sharper and more defined, while details will be clearer.
Corsair utilises IPS panel technology for their monitors. IPS panels, like other LCD monitors, rely on liquid crystals to produce colour which is then backlit so that you can perceive an image. Unlike other panel types, the liquid crystals in an IPS panel can shift horizontally. This creates a wider viewing angle; this is especially useful for gaming as you’ll always know what is happening on screen even when not looking straight on at the screen.
Being a Corsair product brings the advantage of being fully compatible with the powerful iCUE software. Once connected to your computer, you’ll be able to control all settings of your display through the software, from brightness, to picture mode, and even input source. Furthermore, thanks to iCUE’s integration with Stream Decks, you’ll be able to change these settings on the fly with a simple press of a button.
