Water-cooled PCs offer superior thermal performance compared to traditional air cooling, making them ideal for high-performance gaming and intensive tasks like video editing or streaming.
How long do liquid cooled PCs last?
The lifespan of a liquid-cooled PC depends on the type of cooling system and regular maintenance. AIO coolers typically last around five to seven years with minimal upkeep, whereas custom water cooling loops can last even longer with proper maintenance. Ideally, you should regularly check for leaks, top up coolant as it evaporates, and clean out the loop.
What are the disadvantages of water cooling on a PC?
Water cooled PCs offer superior thermal performance and are generally quieter than their air-cooled counterparts. However, PCs with custom water cooling loops require maintenance, such as checking coolant levels and cleaning components. Additionally, All In One CPU coolers have a fixed lifespan, typically lasting several years before requiring replacement.
Do you have to change the water in a water cooled PC?
For PCs with an AIO cooler, you usually won’t have to change the coolant. However, for custom loops, you will need to replace the coolant every 12 to 24 months to ensure optimal performance.
What is a water-cooled PC?
A water-cooled PC is a computer that is equipped with a thermal solution which utilises heat transfer via liquid rather than by air alone. Water-cooled PCs tend to have high-performance hardware that requires incredibly efficient cooling, to maintain peak operation levels.
