Get esports level performance at a lower price point, with the Endgame Gear XM2we Gaming Mouse. Crafted as an essential gaming mouse, this model offers wireless connectivity, a premium optical sensor, and great adjustability through the XM2we Configuration Software. Improving on the XM1, this gaming mouse is lighter and equipped with the latest innovative technology, whilst still retaining the features we love about the original.
The Endgame Gear XM2we Gaming Mouse has been crafted to provide high performance whilst remaining at a competitive price point. The “we” in the name even stands for “Wireless Essential”. Following this tenant, the Endgame Gear XM2we is equipped with a Pixart PAW3370 sensor, with a resolution of up to 19,000 CPI. Utilising the XM2we Configuration Software, you can adjust the CPI from 50 to 10,000 by increments of 50 CPI, or by 100 CPI between 10,000 and 19,000 CPI. Alternatively, there are pre-defined CPI settings assigned to the switch on the bottom side of the mouse. Toggle between 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 CPI on the fly!
The Endgame Gear XM2we is pixel-precise, tracking every glide with great accuracy. It has a tracking speed of up to 400 IPS and acceleration of 50G, perfect for those high-octane esports competitions.
Confused by our use of CPI instead of DPI? CPI, or Counts per Inch, is actually a more accurate measurement of a mouse’s tracking capabilities. Even though DPI has become the most commonly used unit of measurement, Dots per Inch is - strictly speaking - a metric best used for printers, digital cameras, or monitors. DPI uses the number of individual points present in series next to one another in the space of an inch. CPI on the other hand indicates the number of points recorded by a mouse's sensor of the dimension of one inch.
To optimise performance and reduce risk of cable drag, the Endgame Gear XM2we is a wireless gaming mouse. It connects to your gaming PC via 2.4GHz frequencies, via the included USB dongle. The mouse is equipped with a CompX CX52850 MCU, whilst the dongle sports the CX52650 version. This ensures high stability when connected wirelessly, with a polling rate of 1000Hz. Enjoy low latency performance with every click.
As a wireless gaming mouse, the Endgame Gear XM2we is equipped with a high-performance battery. To keep you gaming for longer, it utilises a 410mAh battery which can last for up to a week of gameplay between charges. When battery does run low, an Endgame Gear Flex Cord 3.0 has been included. This is a USB 2.0 Type A to USB-C braided cable, with an angled connector on the mouse end to reduce cable drag.
Further facilitating high performance, the Endgame Gear XM2we Gaming Mouse utilises premium Kailh switches across all of its buttons. The main left and right buttons have Kailh GO Optical Switches, with an 80 million actuation lifespan and low risk of unwanted double clicks. Whilst they have an optical barrier, the distinct actuation point has a feedback akin to mechanical switches, for a more familiar experience.
Both the side buttons and scroll wheel are equipped with pre-sorted Kailh GM 2.0 switches. These have a lifespan of 20 million actuations and a satisfying crisp click. What’s more, the scroll wheel utilises a TTCC silver encoder and has two-way operation.
In total, there are five buttons on the Endgame Gear XM2we: the two main L/R buttons, two side buttons, and the scroll wheel. Upon the bottom of the shell are two additional switches, the power slider and CPI toggle switch.
In addition to the CPI, the XM2we Configuration Software can be used to adjust other aspects of the Endgame Gear XM2we Gaming Mouse. The polling rate can be selected, with options of 125, 250, 500, and 1000Hz. As standard, the lift-off distance (LoD) is 2mm, but this can be reduced to 1mm. What’s more, you can configure the debounce time to best suit your gameplay style.
The Endgame Gear XM2w3 Gaming Mouse has a physical adjustment you can make too. The underside of the shell has a hybrid skate design, meaning it can support both large and small PTFE glides. Out of the box, this mouse is installed with the larger skates, but you can easily make the switch if you prefer the smaller style.
The Endgame Gear XM2we draws a lot of inspiration from its predecessor, the XM1. Its overall style and performance goals are mirrored – even down to the same dry coat finish for enhanced grip. A few key differences are the upgraded internals already spoken about and the overall weight. The XM2we is an ultra-lightweight gaming mouse, at approximately 63g.
There are two models of the Endgame Gear XM2we Gaming Mouse available, black or white. This model is black, a classic finish that will complement any gaming aesthetic.
"The verdict – 5/5: The Endgame Gear XM2we is one of the best gaming mice out there right now, and it might just be one of the best accessible options for any claw grippers out there, too. For the asking price of $79.99, you really can’t go wrong here."
"If you’re looking for minimal fuss but maximum performance, then absolutely, this is the mouse for you. It’s fast, light, nimble, incredibly accurate, has a superb click response, and a clean aesthetic with no RGB, and long battery life for a premium wireless experience. Absolutely worthy of our editor’s choice award!"
"The XM2we is a well-built mouse with a premium material finish that appears as if it will last many years, especially against Logitech's more expensive wireless gaming mice, whilst not being a discomfort or distraction with fancy lighting."
