Hard drives and SSDs in 2.5 inch format have a height between 7 mm and 15 mm, depending on the storage capacity and model. Especially SSDs are usually particularly flat and have a 7 mm height. However, many installation slots, external hard drive enclosures or PC enclosures are designed only for 9.5mm high drives. An SSD would not sit and wobble safely. For this case, this self-adhesive spacer is intended to increase the height from 7 mm to 9.5 mm.
