The NZXT H710i is the successor of the H700i. Like its predecessors, the Midi-Tower offers a proven, no-frills design. The mounting mechanism of the tempered glass side panel has been optimized and now requires only one screw at the rear of the case. This gives a cleaner look and the glass is less under tension. In addition, NZXT added the Smart Device V2 to control fans and RGB LED accessories and refreshes the front panel with new connections.
NZXT again relies on their proven designs with smooth outer surfaces and harmonious proportions for H710i. Changes in appearance are primarily of a practical nature: the tempered glass side panel of the predecessor was attached to the chassis with four knurled screws. On the NZXT H710i, on the other hand, the side surface is completely flat. A single knurled screw on the back of the case provides a secure grip and easier access to the inside of the computer. The version offered here is white on the outside and black on the inside.
As a special feature the NZXT H710i midi tower has an integrated controller with NZXT CAM support, called Smart Device V2. It is used to control the pre-installed NZXT Aer F fans and the two NZXT HUE 2 RGB LED strips included in the box, which are immediately visible through the tempered glass window. A total of nine fans can be connected to the three PWM connectors via Y-cables. The RGB connectors together support four HUE 2 strips or up to five NZXT AER RGB fans. An acoustic sensor helps to determine the optimum balance between cooling and noise. Control is possible via the feature-rich software on the PC.
If you rely on traditional air cooling, the NZXT H710i offers a lot: Three 120 or two 140 fans can be installed in the front as well as in the lid and there is room for a 120 or 140 model in the rear panel. For processor coolers, a maximum height of 185 millimeters is possible. NZXT generously equips the Midi Tower from the factory with four in-house fans of the Aer series: Three black 120 models are pre-installed in the front and one 140 model in the rear and ensure adequate air exchange. Removable dust filters are located on the front and under the power supply.
The installation of a custom water cooling system was also taken into account: The user can install 280 or 360 radiators in the front and cover. A 120mm radiator can be installed in the rear wall. On the cable cover between the motherboard and front of the case, reservoirs and pump with up to 224 mm overall height can be installed.
The interior of the NZXT H710i offers plenty of space for the installation of powerful hardware: In addition to Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX and ATX motherboards, E-ATX boards up to a width of 272 millimetres can also be installed. Seven slots are available for expansion cards. In addition, the H710i offers two additional slots for vertical installation of the graphics card. This may be up to 413 mm long.
Like its predecessors, the NZXT H710i has no external drive bays. Internally, however, a large number of storage devices can be installed: Under the power supply cover there is a modular hard disk cage. This allows the mounting of up to three 3.5 inch hard disks. In addition, another 3.5-inch hard disk can be installed on the bottom of the case.
Behind the motherboard tray there is space for two 2.5-inch drives mounted vertically. Two additional 2.5-inch drives can be mounted on the power supply cover and another 2.5-inch drive on the side of the motherboard tray. This makes it possible to mount up to four 3.5-inch and five 2.5-inch drives. Behind the mainboard tray there are dedicated rails for cable routing. About 18 to 22 millimetres of space are available for invisible cable routing.
