The Rode X XCM-50, perfect for gamers and streamers
The Rode X XCM-50 combines crystal clear recordings in a compact format. With its cardioid polar pattern , it defies louder environments and puts your voice in focus. Nevertheless, thanks to its sensitivity, the microphone does not miss even the finest nuances. The free Rode X UNIFY software gives you a virtual mixer for professional streaming.
Warm and cordial: your voice shines despite its small format
Sound quality is not necessarily created by size. It hides in the right technique and your voice. With the X XCM-50, Rode complements its range with another cardioid microphone that blocks out annoying background noise and puts your voice in focus. It renders them with a warmth and naturalness that represents you. It does that with a 1/2 inch condenser capsule that can capture clear and professional sounds.
The integrated high-end preamp called Revolution supports you, which almost eliminates noise. There is also an integrated DSP chip from Aphex, which can be used as a noise gate and compressor and offers 24-bit at 48 kHz digital conversion.
The directional characteristics at a glance
The cardioid is excellent for single shots. Above all, it records everything that is in front of the microphone and automatically filters out annoying background noise.
Omnidirectional mode captures everything around it like a bullet . It's only good for group podcasts because it can't block out ambient noise on its own.
The eight is very rare. It picks up sound from the front and rear equally and is insensitive to sound from the sides. Sounds contradictory, but it is excellent for spatial reproduction and is characterized by a wide stereo base. It allows, for example, to record two singers at the same time. The interplay of two people cannot compensate for a sound coil cover.
The mini studio: just plug in and get started
USB instead of XLR if you want to get great recordings quickly and easily. In the X XCM-50 , Rode packs his knowledge into a small microphone that can take you anywhere. A flexible and small studio with built-in pop protection and live monitoring via 3.5 mm jack plug .
RODE X UNIFY: YOUR VIRTUAL PROFESSIONAL STUDIO
Gamers and streamers are supported by the Rode X UNIFY software , which offers a virtual mixer with which you can also control the Aphex DSP chip. UNIFY offers a 10-channel mixer with individual volume and mute functions for up to four microphones and six additional channels for music, game, chat, system or pad sounds. You can import sound effects or jingles via eight freely assignable trigger pads, each with eight banks. You can also use it to record, edit and export your recordings, either in WAV or MP3 format.
Tripod for professional audio setups
The tripod is already mounted on the microphone, but can be exchanged for a microphone arm without any problems. Its ball head can be rotated 360° and fixed , which means you can position it however you like. You can also tilt the microphone in the bracket. Set up the Rode X XCM-50 , simply connect it to your PC or Mac via USB-C and you're ready to go.
