A good upgrade to get PC up to date again
by Dave YMy review is in two parts. The first section relates to the Asus product. The last to the Nvidia 4060 content. The card was nicely packaged, but not overly, so I wasn't left with that guilty feeling that I'd just experienced a £30 unboxing process and doubled my carbon footprint. Having not actually seen the card before hand, I was surprised how much bigger it was than the 1660 Super it was replacing. Don't get me wrong it fitted easily in my PC case and according to the blurb, fits into 99% of mid sized PC cases . Again all the components of the Asus card looked quality. There are no fancy LED lights or unnecessary bling. As for Nvidia, in this new generation, the 4060 is the entry level offering. Unlike the 1060 which years ago was a mid range card with a massive performance boost over the previous generation. Where as a 4060 has less memory the 3060 and less raw power than a 3060ti. Luckily the 4060 has modern science built in such as DLSS 3, which, so far, gives it enough of a significant boost to quality and performance that it is on par with the last generation. In my opinion the card is no more expensive and most importantly available to buy off the shelf at less than MRP.
