Reminder of why the motherboard makes all the difference
by KatherineNeeded a AM5 and DDR5 motherboard recently, and paid extra to get one with the latest PCIe connectors, this one brings all of that into one neat package, and compared to my older MSI motherboard, has already done a ton to show how much a motherboard will make the difference for performance overall. found everything performs better with this thing, issues I thought were related to my GPU or otherwise were resolved with this new motherboard. Didn't need the onboard Wifi setup, but everything else was just what I needed. only had four complaints with the board myself. - M.2 Sata slots secure in place differently from what I was use to, likely a personal problem but it almost led to me breaking one of my m.2 drives. - Placement of some ports/ plugs are difficult to utilise/ easily obstructed by GPU and otherwise, although fortunately they're just things you'll likely plug in once and only change on a major rebuild. - DDR5 ram slots have working levers on one side but not on the others, made installation more awkward to complete. - Start-up is pretty slow on boot. All difficulty came from installation, using the thing is very easy.
