STAND OUT
FROM THE CROWD

DEEP BLACK PERFORMANCE
Thanks to MiniLED technology, local dimming zones are even smaller and more granular than ever before. With local dimming activated you can obtain extraordinary HDR performance with a contrast ratio of 50,000:1.

QUANTUM DOT VISUAL BRILLIANCE
Using a quantum-dot enhancement film, colors are more vibrant and can emit an even more precise amount of light, leading to stronger color reproduction and wider color gamut, making it perfect for color accurate work.

BRIGHTEST SHINE
Reach a new level of clarity for everything you watch. MiniLED's improved display technology brightens whites and darkens blacks for an HDR picture that has an unprecedented level of picture quality. The Tempest GP27U can reach 600 nits of peak brightness in SDR mode, or 1200 nits in HDR mode. This is how MiniLED shows all your favorite content in a whole new light.

SMOOTH OPERATOR
Adaptive Sync ensures smooth, lifelike gameplay that accurately reproduces a level of realism to everything you play. By synchronizing the frames outputted from the GPU to the refresh rate of the monitor, you can experience tear-free gameplay that is smoother than ever.

CUTTING EDGE SPEED
Tempest GP27U uses the latest Ultra-Speed IPS panels which is up to 4x faster than traditional IPS panels. Combined with carefully tuned overdrive profiles, the pixels transition faster to other colors and scenes, while minimizing overshoot for exceptionally smooth picture quality with significantly less motion blur or smearing. Not satisfied with any of the overdrive presets? For the first time, you can completely customize the overdrive level of your monitor within the OSD menu from values 0 to 100 for an even more fine-tuned experience.

EASY ON THE EYES
Protect your eyes from potentially harmful blue light with our Low Blue Light Mode. The Tempest MiniLED series are also flicker-free*, further reducing any eye strain and allowing you to get more work or gaming done.

*flicker-free is only when local dimming is not enabled.

FULL BANDWIDTH HDMI 2.1
With two full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports, equivalent to 48Gbps, the Tempest GP27U completely supports consoles like the Xbox Series X and PS5 at 4K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate without the need for any Display Stream Compression (DSC), making it a future-proof monitor for years to come.

CONNECTION MASTER
KVM SWITCHER INTEGRATION
With a built-in KVM switch in the Tempest Monitor series, you can easily control an extra device such as a laptop, another desktop, tablet, or a phone using only a single set of a keyboard and mouse. With a simple toggle in the OSD menu, you can seamlessly swap controls to your second device for ultimate multitasking.

MAKE IT YOUR GAME
Customize up to 5 different color profiles for different use cases. In FPS games, you may want to increase the Black Level Stabilization to better see enemies in the dark, whereas in a RPG game or a movie, you’d prefer to have the blacks stay darker for more immersion. The choice is yours and you can tailor 5 different profile settings to whatever situation you may encounter.

MASTER AGILITY
With a wide range of adjustability, the Tempest GP27U can be positioned to the way you want it exactly.

COOLER MASTER UNIQUE DESIGN

Amazing Image Quality - Pity about the firmware

by Rob star_border star_border star star star

I bought a pair of these, as much for productivity as gaming. Image quality is as about as good as it gets for LCD. Puts my older LG 4K monitors totally to shame. Where these monitors fall down is the firmware. Updated to latest after receipt of the monitors (1.4.5 at the time of writing) but still finding operation of them annoying. The OSD is horrid but worst is these monitors waking up from sleep/Windows blank screen. Can be 4 or 5 minutes before Windows and these monitors actually decide to work properly and often as not involves manual intervention. Waking up from sleep the monitors display "Scanning Signal" then one of them will come to life, but at the same time the other says "no signal sleeping in 15 seconds", then the one that is displaying drops back to scanning signal and the first one comes alive. This continues for minutes with windows chimming the new hardware detected and hardware disconnected bells/whistles/chirps. I often have to resort to turning off one monitor, letting the other settle then turning the monitor back on.. Make any change to any display setting and you get "Scanning signal" screen. Play HDR Video content (despite having HDR set on my desktop) and guess what - "Scanning Signal". The amount of time I see the "Scanning Signal" message is absurd and spoils what it one of the best images I've every seen on an LCD display.

Outstanding Monitor

by George star star star star star

I use this monitor principally for productivity use and study (typically office type apps along with python programming as part of studying physics) with a smattering of gaming and media consumption thrown in for good measure. It was purchased on the basis of wanting a monitor that offered a one shot solution which would be equally adept at all use cases. I'd considered various other 4k and 1440p 27 inch displays before settling on this one. The pros: Image quality is outstanding. Reflection handling is brilliant and the monitor works very well in a bright room, even with direct sunlight. It can really go to retina searing levels of brightness. The motion handling is excellent with both video and gaming being exceptionally smooth. Once local dimming is set to high, black levels are inky and there is no real evidence of backlight bleed even when viewing films in a dark room. While it's still not at OLED levels it really is quite exceptional for an IPS display with the added benefits of being able to use the monitor for static images without fear of burn in. 160Hz is available with any of the connectors be it display port, HDMI or USB-C DP-alt mode. The later being especially beneficial when plugging in my work laptop due to it's power delivery being capable of upto 95W. The cons: Off axis viewing can result in fairly extreme blooming around bright objects when using local dimming, this isn't visible at all when the monitor is viewed 30 degrees or so either side of center so has no effect in normal usage, but it does mean that this isn't suitable as a TV alternative. There are speakers which are truly terrible, pretty sure I've heard better sound out of a mid 90s case speaker!
