Fantastic for the price
by L FisherIt's a fantastic keyboard for the price. Exactly what I was looking for. Simple, good typing experience with no RGB. The spare red enter key it came with looks really good.
Get the original style with the Ducky Origin Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. Inspired by the true essence and original typing experience of Ducky keyboards, this series is going to back its roots. The sleek and timeless design is paired with genuine Cherry MX switches and double shot PBT keycaps, making this keyboard a beautiful and functional addition to your gaming set up.
The Ducky Origin Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a full-sized keyboard, arranged in a UK ISO layout. There are two models available in the range, Black and Vintage. This is the Black edition, with dark keycaps, an all-black frame, and white legends for a stark contrast. The classic colouring will be a fine addition to any gaming set up. What’s more, an extra enter keycap, in a random colour, is included within the scope of delivery.
The Ducky Origin Mechanical Gaming Keyboard utilises double shot PBT keycaps. This durable plastic resists the general wear and tear of heavy usage, meaning the keys won’t shine over time. Plus, the double shot moulding means the legends won’t fade either.
For an authentic typing experience, the Ducky Origin Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is equipped with genuine Cherry MX switches. This model is equipped with Cherry MX Speed Silver switches, which have a light operating force of 45g paired with linear feedback, a short travel distance, and no audible click. These are great for fast paced gaming like first-person shooters.
Additionally, this gaming keyboard has hot-swapping capabilities across eight of the keys. This is featured on the larger keys, such as the spacebar, enter, and shift. They utilise Yellow Kailh sockets and can be customised to suit your typing needs.
The Ducky Origin Mechanical Gaming Keyboard has been enhanced for your comfort. The keys are in an OEM profile that has been calculated to provide an ergonomic feel. Plus, the underside features three-stage feet, allowing you to set the angle of the keyboard to best suit you.
For your convenience and portability, the Ducky Origin Mechanical Gaming Keyboard has a detachable USB-C to USB 2.0 braided cable.

This is a solid, simple keyboard that is a real pleasure to use. It has a decent weight, very rigid backboard, and feels really high quality. The keys have a matt texture that feels pleasing to touch, and there is no wobble on the keycaps which I've seen on much more expensive keyboards. The letters appear to be printed on (white font on black) so I'm not sure how long they will last, but given the quality manufacturing, I'm hopeful they will survive. This reminds me of great keyboards of old, i.e. with the proper UK 100% layout. The switches (cherry speed silver) are excellent - they activate when depressed >30% of the travel, which makes them great for fast FPS gaming, but also for general gaming and typing. If you're coming from a more clickity clacky mechanical keyboard then you might take a few days to adjust - but then you won't want to go back. They are very quiet switches too, with no mechanical sound. It's a real joy to use, can't fault this in any way. Perfect keyboard.
