Was fine from day 1 however now overheating.

by Adrian star_border star_border star_border star_border star

I bought this on release day and temps were relatively ok even though the the core temps were still in the mid 70's and the Hotspot was peaking at 90c. However as a few months have passed this GPU is now overheating the core temps are reaching 84c and the Hotspot has reached a whopping 107c and thus thermal throttling is being reported in Hwinfo. Bearing in mind this is in an O11 Xl with 12 x 120mm fans at full speed, Even when I tried putting the GPU fans at full speed it made no difference. Bottom line I have had to rectify this myself by repasting the core and now my temps in the 60's when gaming on the core and in the 70's for the Hotspot even at full load. Moral of the story, Either the paste or mounting system Inno3d is using for these GPU's is subpar and not fit for purpose or it has some serious early thermal interface material pump out issues which can only be the paste Inno3d use or the heatsink mounting system. This is the first GPU in my history I have had to repaste so early on in it's life cycle and my first Inno3d also which I will not be purchasing from this brand again.

Very happy with this card.

What drew me to discard is the fact it isn't as big as some of the others. This enables me to have my PCI slot still in use on my motherboard the other cards were too to thick to allow this to happen. Runs cool 65-70 degrees under load. Applied a small undervolt, 950mV gives me 2715 mHz which saves about 80w under load and it runs even cooler with only a 3% performance drop.
