Phenomenal Storage

The Jonsbo N4 is an excellent choice whether you’re adding storage to your home network or increasing an office’s storage capacity. This compact NAS case can facilitate up to eight drives, with six locations for 3.5" HDDs and two for 2.5" SSDs. These are all connected through a server-grade interface, that utilises premium components such as solid-state capacitors, gold-plated connectors, and dual power connectors. This ensures that your drives will provide optimum and stable performance at all times.

In addition to this, the Jonsbo N4 offers excellent long-term performance. The four 3.5" HDDs on the left side of the NAS are connected via a hot-swappable interface, allowing for the quick replacement of faulty or full drives, without causing an interruption.

Hardware Compatibility

For optimum performance, a NAS requires a motherboard, CPU, and network interface to operate. As such, the Jonsbo N4 offers excellent compatibility with a range of hardware. The N4’s top chamber is large enough to house either a Mini-ITX or Micro-ATX motherboard. With 70mm CPU cooler clearance, the Jonsbo N4 has space for a low-profile cooler for maintaining your CPU at optimum temperatures. What’s more, the N4 has four low profile PCIe slots, which can be utilised for a variety of expansion cards such as a GPU, NIC card, or additional storage.

Within the bottom chamber, you can install a 125mm SFX PSU, which sits behind the two 2.5" SSDs. By positioning the power supply here, there is ample room for cable management and, as a result, natural airflow. To boost thermal performance, there is a pre-installed 120mm fan directing airflow through the drive cages.

Stylish Storage

The Jonsbo N4’s compact design allows it to be easily stored out of the way, under a desk, on a shelf, or in the corner of a room. What’s more, the stylish finish seamlessly matches almost any environment, with both white and black models available. Additionally, the Jonsbo N4 includes a top front panel manufactured from 8mm thick North American Black Walnut. Thanks to this, the Jonsbo N4 NAS case is perfect for use alongside other modern PC cases that utilise wood finishes.

Good case for my NAS/homelab with some caveats

I bought one of these to house my NAS/Homelab, it's a good case but is let down by 2 things: 1) the back plane only accomodates 4 of the 8 drives that it can hold 2) the stock fan is way too noisy - I replaced mine with a Noctua and paird it with a temperature sensor that I placed in the drive bay - temps are now great. Nevertheless it works really well with my setup and the temps are now fine now I moved to helium filled drives, the air filled drives tended to get too warm. Working in the top half of the case is no problem but is a little cramped in the drive bays, make sure to use the really thin SATA data cables if you can as space is tight. As usual excellent service from Overclockers!
