Does what it says on the tin
by StuNo issues. Nice PSU. Everything as you would expect. The fan guard grill sticks out a very small amount making assembly snug.
With the Continuum series, the Hungarian brand Kolink has finally left the field of budget power supplies and is now introducing high-end power supplies at a fair price. Kolink is now looking to offer gamers Kolink's blend of quality and price-to-performance to users of multiple (highly) overclocked graphics cards as well as rendering platforms and workstations. With high-end models rated at over 850 Watts and 80 Plus Platinum efficiency, Kolink is now competing with more well-known brands across Europe.
Kolink relies on top-class technology for this kind of performance: While a double-forward circuit is used in the primary range, the manufacturer relies on DC-DC technology with independent voltage aggregation in the secondary range. This benefits both the efficiency and the precision of the power supply, especially under asymmetrical loads. For example, the Continuum power supply can be loaded with the entire rated power output on the +12 V rail if required. Very different load conditions are commonplace - particularly in systems with multiple main processors and graphics cards. For that reason, Kolink designed the new top series for extreme load scenarios right from the start.
Long-term operation of such high-performance hardware is an expensive pastime as power costs rise in direct proportion to the components' performance. With the Kolink Continuum power supply, the additional costs can be slightly reduced compared to standard systems: The particularly high efficiency meets the requirements of the 80 Plus Platinum rating and therefore exceeds 92/90/89 percent efficiency at 50/20/100 percent load (at 115 Volt input voltage). Efficiency increases even further when used on the European 230 Volt network. Compared to similar gold certification power supplies, the Kolink Continuum saves a good 20 Watts. Additionally this minimises waste heat, reducing the amount of heat produced and extending the service life.
The Continuum series' name stands for durable and reliable operation, and that's why Kolink always opts for quality when it comes to component assembly. To that end Kolink exclusively uses 105-degree electrolytic capacitors from Japanese brands. In regards to cooling, the required air flow for cooling is provided by a particularly slow-moving 140 mm fan with small pits similar to those found on a golf ball along with extra durable double ball bearings. As such Kolink's contribution to the high-end segment not only offers high quality power but also low noise along with good cooling. The five year manufacturer's guarantee competes favourably with current luxury class power supply standards.
A clear highlight of the fully modular Kolink Continuum C850PL is the massive choice of connections: In addition to the 20+4-pin ATX connector for the board, one 4+4-pin and one 8-pin 12V EPS connector can supply up to two high-end processors. Six 6+2-pin PCIe connectors are available for the graphics cards on three cable harnesses. Even rendering setups with six mid-range GPUs can be run without resorting to adapter add-on solutions. The other components are supplied via eight SATA and six 4-pin Molex connectors. This means that each power supply unit of the new Continuum series can permanently provide high-end performance. Without doubt, this part from Kolink represents a successful entry into the market for high-end power supplies!

I originally ordered a Super Flower Leadex III 850W 80 PLUS Gold PSU, however, at that time due to covid-19 and short supply of pc components here on Overclockers, I decided to go for this PSU. It's pretty quiet, infact now I think about it, I don't even hear it. It's got good quality capacitors, lots of cables, and seems very stable on voltages in my rig. Don't let the name put you off, it's a quality PSU, you can read the review on it by KitGuru just below these comments, and the chap who I spoke to on the phone recommended it as a replacement, since they had no e.t.a. of stock on the other PSU I ordered previously.
