I've not owned a pc for well over 10yrs and I've never built one. Whilst slightly daunting and overwhelming the instructions was straight forward and easy to follow, very happy it worked with the 5600g straight out of the box. Extremely happy with the motherboard and prompt delivery!

Having not built a pc in about 10 years I found it a bit daunting when I saw how things had changed. After reading lots of reviews I had decided on the B550 chipset as it was new and supported the newer AMD CHIPS and would therefore give me a bit of future proofing. Scanning the various manufacturers board specs it was a tough choice but I kept coming back to the MSI B550 Tomahawk, it ticked all my boxes, one being a front USB C connection, good power management and also it has plenty of connections for future expansion. Overclockers added this to a pre order for a case I wanted, it was painless and I went to collect, well done guys.There isnt much in the box in terms of accessories but I remember when I built in the past most of those stayed in the box as not needed, a couple of SATA cables is enough. I found the board well laid out with all the connections on the board in good locations so I could easily access them whilst keeping my cables tidy, the whole build was a breeze and I was up and running in only a couple of hours. The manual was well laid out and gave plenty of information which helped me with the build, I was quite surprised how easy and straight forward it was. I found the bios simple and informative, this has changed a lot from what I was used to, changing boot order to usb was a doddle, I had no issues installing windows followed by the appropriate drivers.Im not to fussed about over locking at this point so cant comment on that but for me paired with an AMD 3600X and an MSI RTX 2070 Super the few games Ive tried look great and run very smooth. My only criticism if you could call it that is I would have liked to have seen a couple more usb sockets on the back, initially I thought there were plenty but Ive already used them all but thats a minor thing. Overall Im pretty pleased with my build and sure I made the right choice for the motherboard, nice one MSI.
