Current BIOS is poor
by LozTake a look around Google for "msi mag x870 tomahawk bios slow post" and you'll find a lot of issues related to this mobo which are being brushed under the carpet. I wish I investigated further before purchasing as it's a bit of a dud at the moment. I believe MSI have rushed this out of the door with the hope of fixing issues retrospectively with BIOS updates but at the time of writing (Feb 15 2025), they haven't achieved that yet. I'm personally holding out rather than going through the palaver or returning and buying an alternative as I can actually boot into windows, play games and the hardware quality seems fantastic. It's by no means been a seamless experience however. It takes over a minute to POST where it indicates the wrong memory speed and a negative amount. Once it finally boots into Windows it seems absolutely fine however. My previous MSI AM4 build was an easy and seamless experience but this AM5 build has been disappointing. I don't recommend this motherboard in it's current state. I'll update this review when MSI release a BIOS that fixes the above issues.
