The Features of the Phanteks Digital RGB Controller Hub in Detail:
With digitally addressable RGB-LEDs you can now create significantly more complex lighting effects, as every LED can be controlled individually and independently. In combination with compatible motherboards and software like ASUS Aura Sync or MSI Light Sync, the lighting of a whole setup can be configured down to the last detail with a few clicks. Mode Switch allows you to switch between manual mode and control via compatible motherboards.
Should the controller be operated independently, up to seven Phanteks Digital RGB products can be driven in a daisy chain configuration. If paired with a compatible motherboard, its maximum number of connections can be increased to up to nine RGB components in series.

I bought a couple of Phanteks Halos RGB recently only to find they don't have a typical 3pin or 4pin rgb connector on them, they use a different connector that requires, specifically - this overpriced controller...
Unable to return the Halos that I bought because I took them out of the packaging, threw the packaging away and then only noticed the headers were not standard the following day when going to install them I've been forced to buy this pointless RGB controller.
The spec listing, product video and photos on the standard Halos RGB product page on Phantek's website deliberately avoids showing this, with the only mention of needing this silly box being buried in tiny text near the bottom of the page under lots of huge marketing renders with lots of flashy lights.
I won't be buying any Phanteks products going forward, absolutely shameful.
Perfect If you dont have 5v ARGB header on your motherboard

I've decided on the Lian Li SL120 RGB fan, but my mini-itx motherboard only supports 12v rather than 5v argb header. I found a Phanteks RGB with a 5v header and hooked it up to a Lian Li SL120 fan, and it worked!
