Great thermal pads for VRMs
by ElliotRecently I needed to re-seat my GPU's heatsink and knowing that the stock thermal pads may not be re-usable I decided to order a spare set just in case - naturally I bought the cheapest EK pads which I thought would do the job and how wrong I was!At 3W/mK conductivity the EK pads performed significantly worse than the stock MSI thermal pads using an air heatsink adding about 7 Celsius to already hot VRMs.Having used Thermal Grizzly paste before I hoped that this range would be a better choice of pad and decided to bite the bullet, and at 8W/mK they didn't disappoint removing about 6 Celsius over the stock pads.I highly recommend that if you are using an air heatsink and need to re-pad your VRMs then go for a higher W/mK pad such as these.
