Explore Water Cooling Fittings By Size: 16/10mm OD/ID

Fittings are essential when setting up a water cooling loop as they hold the tubing in place between each component in the loop. There are of course a wide variety of fittings and adapters with different functions. Water cooling fittings always have a male or female thread of a given diameter. The majority of components and fittings have a 16/10mm / G1/4" thread.

The various fittings and adapters for water cooling systems

Thread adapters convert either a port-diameter to another, or the thread from a male to a female threaded connection or vice-versa. Angle adapters direct the path of watercooling tubing in a different direction without having a wide bend in the tubing. These are standardised in angles of 30, 45, 60, 90, and 180 degrees. Compression fittings are used to attach the tubing to the watercooling components and have all but replaced the earlier barb fittings as they offer a tighter and more reliable seal. Plugin connectors and dripping of the coolant from the watercooling lines is very effectively prevented.

The most popular and widely used fittings for water cooling systems

  • Angle fittings (allows manipulation of the tubing direction for a more efficient loop)
  • Thread converters
  • Quick release adapters (allow removal and replacement of components without spilling or draining the fluid)
  • Plugs/Stop fittings (block any unused ports on your water cooling components)
  • Rotary fittings (usually in conjunction with angle fittings. Allow free rotation of the fitting without loosening the seal)
  • Compression/Barb fittings
  • Fill ports (allow easy filling of the loop)
